cholesterol in itself is not the devil's work, but is vital for our body, as it plays a key role in the construction of the cell membrane and in many metabolic processes in the brain. It also acts as a starting material for the production of bile acids for fat digestion and for the formation of vitamin D and hormones (e.g. estrogen, testosterone, cortisol).
