eye pressure measurement

We carry out the examination using a so-called non-contact tonometry. This involves using a puff of air of a certain strength to measure the respective deformation of the cornea, which depends on the eye pressure.

In cases of increased eye pressure (glaucoma), the deformation is less.

Since the eye in this form of eye pressure measurement is not touched, there is no risk of injury or infection.

Since there are also glaucoma patients with normal eye pressure, we perform this examination in combination with a visual field examination (perimetry).
