Thyroid sonography is an ultrasound examination of the thyroid. 

This examination allows the exact size of the thyroid to be determined.

This method is also important for diagnosing thyroid nodules, whose structure can be easily assessed using ultrasound.

Ultrasound examination of the thyroid is painless and, unlike thyroid scintigraphy, does not involve any radiation exposure.
