Ultrasound examination of the leg vessels can provide an accurate statement about the risk of circulatory disorders in the leg area (e.g. smoker's legs).

By taking appropriate countermeasures, the further increase in arteriosclerosis can usually be prevented. In addition, a thickening of the walls of the leg arteries also indicates possible calcification of the coronary arteries. This examination is therefore also important for assessing the risk of a heart attack. Examination of the leg veins can also varicose veins being represented.

Ultrasound of the leg veins is particularly important for early Diagnosis of thromboses, which can cause dangerous pulmonary embolisms.
