| Ergometrie | Ergometry is one of the most important diagnostic cardiological procedures. The stress tests are usually carried out on the bicycle ergometer in a sitting or lying position. The bicycle ergometers used are braked mechanically or electrically, largely independent of the speed. The main indication is the diagnosis, risk assessment and prognosis of coronary heart disease. In sports medicine, the Ergometrie also used to assess physical performance. Physical performance can be determined using the so-called PWC (physical work capacity). For example, the PWC 130 is the power in watts/kg body weight that is achieved at a pulse rate of 130. We always carry out ergometry with the determination of the PWC in connection with the lactate step test in order to be able to give more precise recommendations for training control. |
