Outpatient sleep apnea diagnostics

Almost every third adult complains of sleep disorders, some of them are affected by sleep apnea affected.

Apnea means that breathing stops. Sleep apnea means that breathing stops during sleep.

Patients suffer from increased daytime fatigue. In addition, severe cardiac arrhythmias can occur during the breathing pauses.

We give the patient a small, portable diagnostic device to take home. This device measures the patient's pulse, snoring noises and oxygen saturation while they sleep. It also records which sleeping position was used at which time and whether there were any pauses in breathing.

In contrast to a sleep laboratory, this outpatient sleep apnea diagnostics in the patient’s usual environment.

The data recorded during the night are analyzed in the practice using a computer and then discussed with the patient.
